A great book sorry I didn't journal it when I first picked it up. You missed out not reading it molyneux. A prize winning book (Booker 1995) it is part real and part imagination. It was very easy to imagine the young boy's life and all his thoughts and emotions. Although it was a nice quick read I would have liked the story to have gone on longer.
Now going off to wubbaducky from the VBB on BCUK extra. Enjoy!

This arrived today, thanks Wubbaducky!
Wow, this book has been on my shelf for a long time! No idea why it took me this long to get around to it...
I really enjoyed the beginning of this book - couldn't put it down. Loved reading about Colin's life interweaved with the adventures of his alter-ego Gaston. But then part way through it started getting weird, and I found myself enjoying it a little less. I also feel there are a lot of loose ends that never got tied up. Still worth a read though.
