Wallace sets up a cult of kindness by accident, funny, whimsical, deely eccentric, highly amusing.

Picked up at the Leeds BC Meet earlier this month (as a 'left-over') with the intention of taking it to my first York BC meet as host - but, having browsed it a little, I've realised it actually looks a rather entertaining (and easy) read - a light & funny book about an actually very seriously interesting aspect of human behaviour - so I think it's gonna join my TBR shelf... I'll try not to keep it toooooo long!
cheers.
cheers.
Actually, I'm pruning this from my bulging TBR shelves - as I have so many other (better) offers, I'm afraid. Sorry!
It looks fun - but I'm going to have to let this move on and go back out into the world to search for its next devotee...

Have been wanting to read this. Can take it off my Amazon wish list now!
I am thoroughly ashamed about the length of time this has been on my tbr pile – and cross with myself for denying myself such a treat for so long. It was a lovely book, and really funny. A good book to read on the bus if you don’t want anyone to sit next to you!.
It’s the account of Danny Wallis’ (flatmate of ‘I’m Dave Gorman’ Dave Gorman) inadvertent setting up of a cult – sorry – a collective. Inspired by the story of an old uncle who had tried (and rather pathetically failed) to establish a commune in a Swiss village, Danny decides to see how easy it would actually be to get people to join him. Trouble is at first he hasn’t really thought through what he wanted people to do once they had joined him.
This being Friday I was thinking of trying an act of random kindness and giving this to the person I was sitting next to on the train when I finished it, but chickened out! May take it to the forthcoming York mass release.

Am sending this to a friend who I think will like it.
