Robert Crais is one of my favourites. I'd just been discussing recommendations with another BookCrosser prior to the Reading meeting, so I've picked this up to send onto her with another book I've promised.

After you told me about Robert Crais I went to a bookshop and bought one. Fortunately, I bought "The last detective" and not this one. So now I can look forward to two nice readings.

Wahoooo... This is exactly the kind of mysteries I like! You just cannot put the book down - and you cannot foresee the ending. But at the same time, the characters have nearly as much importance as the story. They have interesting personalities and are not just good or bad. I got very attached to Elvis and to Pike, so I am very happy to have another story about them in my Mt. TBR.
I'll probably release this book in the wild during my summer vacation abroad.

Update (August 30, 2005): I left this book on August 26, 2005 in the hotel "La Pinta", a lovely motel lost in the middle of the Central desert of Baya California.
Just for fun, another picture of the desert - It was soooo beautiful!
