I read some of this book - it's very well written, Ustinov has a wonderful turn of phrase - but I got bogged down, and didn't finish. I'm sure someone else will make better work of it than me :)

...and I picked it up, and started reading it while eating lunch.
For some reason, i started in the middle - the war years. Chock full of funny anecdotes, and often quite poignant too, which I think means I'll have to read it in lots of sittings.
