Description on back of book.
Robbie is an ordinary Dublin boy until he hurts his head in an accident on St Patrick's Day.
His injury changes everthing. When he returns to consciousness, Robbie believes that God has given him the power to perform miracles. At first he contents himself with winning the spot-the-ball competition in the newspaper, but when he is sent to hospital for 'observation' he decides to cure the other boys of their various ailments. Then tragedy strikes closer to home and Robbie needs all his powers to keep his world intacted.
I really loved this book. I think the fact that it was set in Dublin and felt so familar to me really added to the strong connection I felt with all of the main characters.
Hugh O'Donnell is the founder of the Andrews Lane Theatre and has written a lot of sceen plays but this was his first novel and a fab one at that :)
I'm starting a ring for this book.

It took me quite a long time to get into it (that might be also because I haven´t read in English for a while) , but afterwards I enjoyed Robbies sensibility.

From the english bookbox. :-)
I love irish culture and it is so great to read a book that started its journey in Dublin, one of my favourite cities! What a wonderful, light lecture. It always set me in a good mood, when I read it. I utterly became fond of the protagonist. This boy is so witty, charming and sweet, you have to love him. It is fascinating, how he handles everyday life with all the ups and downs. While reading, I had to laugh out loud several times. :-)
