Me & Emma is one of those rare books that made me say, "Wow" when I read that last page. I thought the author did an excellent job of capturing the voice of her 8-year-old narrator and in describing her feelings, thoughts and reactions, to the terrible childhood she had to endure. This definitely was not an easy book to read based on the subject matter. That box of Kleenex by my side came in handy throughout the book.

I will get this out in the mail to cougmax in Washington tomorrow morning.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

I am amazed. This book was written in a way that you had no idea up unitl the last page. The pain inflicted on these little girls was written so clearly that a full box of tissue is needed to get through the book. I could not put the book down, I couldn't believe how it continued to get worse for the young sisters. The ending blew me away. I was so sad and horrified too. I am surprised this book and author have not received more attention.
Will pm tobysrus now.

Oh my Gawd! What a fabulous book! The first person narration by an 8 year old was fantastic. The reasoning of an 8 year old's mind was riveting. I did not see the ending coming. In fact, I started rereading sections of the book to see if there were clues I should have picked up on but couldn't find any. I would highly recommend this book and may end up buying a copy just to make sure some of my friends get a chance to read it! Good choice Rrrcaron!
