My second copy of the title. Purchased without realising this at the Melbourne Athenaeum Library sale. Been a while since I read this, but remember enjoying the way that Chidgey has made the lives and interests of her characters influence each other.

If you don't get any takers I could recommend some after I've read it perhaps.

I've finished reading this book feeling vaguely disatisfied with the style. I know it has had great reviews which is why I read it but somehow it didn't gel with me. Still, I don't write the reviews or give the awards so others must have seen things in it that I couldn't.
I'm never really comfortable with books that jump about between time frames.

Thank you for thinking of me Sherlockfan. I have a funny feeling I may already have read this book and I will know for sure after I've read a few pages. I am about to send some NZ books to a friend in the US, so I might include it in the parcel, if that's alright with everyone.

And, yes, I will add a short note about Sherlockfan inside the back cover.

I have actually read this book already, so I will return it to Alectoness to re-start the bookring.
