One of my favorites as a child, I was glad to find a copy of it at the bookstore in the discount section.

From the Back Cover:
"When Patricia's mother sends her to her cousins' cottage for the summer, Patricia doesn't want to go. She doesn't know her cousins at all, and she's mever been good at camping or canoeing, let alone making new friends. When she arrives at the cottage, her worst fears come true: her cousin Kelly teases her: Aunt Ginnie and Uncle Doug feel sorry for her. She doesn't fit in. Then Patricia discovers an old watch hidden under a floorboard. When she winds it, she finds herself taken back in time to the summer when her own mother was twelve.."

Alright!! I overlooked the fact that it was a children's book but I will probably enjoy nonetheless! Thanks for sending! It is next on my TBR list, I will most likely have done in a week :)

Journal Entry 5 by DreamworldBooks on Tuesday, April 26, 2005
What a great book! I was reluctant to read it at first because I had a bad experience with a teen horror-novel bookring last week. However, the more I read it and got into it I was glued to it, and it was written extremely well for a children's novel. I was sad that Patricia didn't go back in time more often, those were my favorite parts of the book. I felt that my whole experience with the book didn't last long enough, and I truly enjoyed it! This book reminded me a LOT of my own favorite book as a younger child, which was called "Behind the Attic Wall" by Sylvia Cassidy. The novel is the same type of idea in which time travel is involved, however it made me cry. Try it out, you will probably like it! Overall, this novel was a refreshing read for me, and I was glad to be a part of the ring. Will PM the next person on the list for their address.

This arrived on MOnday but I didn't get chance to journal it then, though I did get to read it. Go figure. Anyway despite being a childrens book this was good though the time travel aspect of the plot was a bit thin. She got insights into her mother and grandmother but I think she would have gotten them anyway. But a good quick read.

Arrived this morning, many thanks! I will get started on it as soon as I've finished the one I'm reading at the moment.

I enjoyed the book. It was a nice, quick, light read. But (and I think because of this) I don't really have many thoughts on it. It didn't really provoke anything in my head and I don't think it has any themes or stuff that are particularly worth talking about it. But like I said, I did enjoy it. I will post it as soon as I have dodau's address!

Picked up today from the post office. it looks really great. Thanks so much for sharing:) Will post more comments after reading.

19 May 06: it was a nice book and the time-travelling was explained in a logical way (plausible enough for me).
None of the characters were memorable, but the plot was interesting and the ending not that predictable.
I will pm the next reader right now.

5 June 06: Virgulina sent me her address so the book will be on its way real soon:)

9 June 06: mailed yesterday afternoon!

It arrived today, it's such a small book that I'll be sure to read it soon and send it on its way. Thanks! :o)

I really like children's books and this one reminded me of Helen Cresswell's work. It was an entertaining story with the time travelling bit not being too unbelievable and fitting right into the plot. It was fun getting to know Patricia's mother and learning why she was the way she was, I don't think there was an explanation as to why Ruth's mother treated her so badly though, she was a horrible person and I hated her.
An enjoyable book! Thanks for the BR andrea1982, I'll be passing it to PreciousArwen probably next week.

It is a beautifull story and i enjoyed it a lot.
This is also the way i imagine time traveling should be (as someone already said).
I will send it to GRAN-DUCATO as soon as i get his/her adress...
GRAN-DUCATO is not answering. It will fly to Germany instead.

Journal Entry 17 by Falmouth from Remscheid, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Sunday, August 13, 2006
I just returned home from a short trip to Bavaria and found the book in my mailbox. Will start on it immediately. Really looking forward to reading it. Lots of thanks to PreciousArwen for all the lovely items I found in the envelope! :-)

-----

I read this in one go. I really loved the story because I remember that during my childhood days I was longing for being able to travel through time, finding out what was before I was born or what would happen after I died. A nice plot, could have been longer. Really enjoyed it and will pass it on as soon as I have I-Spy's address.

-----

There's no possibility to contact I-Spy, so andrea1982 asked me to release it over here. I will give it to MoJeDenUK when we meet next weekend to read and release the book in England.

Danke!

Journal Entry 19 by RedDahlia from Folkestone, Kent United Kingdom on Sunday, September 17, 2006
For a children's book I found it a really enjoyable read and in fact completed it in just under 4 hours! I really liked the idea of a young girl travelling back in time and seeing your mother at the identical age of 12 yrs.

In this story Patricia is a very shy and awkward little girl who has trouble making friends, even with her own cousins and constantly feels alienated from them. When she discovers a watch hidden under floorboards and winds it up it transports her back 35 years.

Like somebody else commented it would have been nicer if she could have gone back in time a little more often and for me it would have been better if she could have actually interacted with them more instead of flitting around them like an invisible ghost.

But it did ultimately change her current relationship with her mum and her cousins as she gained confidence.
