9 out of 10

I loved this book - a study of how various trends catch on, from footwear fashions to urban crime waves. Lots of research and anecdotal evidence written up in a very accessible style. My favorite chapter was the one on childrens' TV programming using the debuts of "Sesame Street" and "Blue's Clues" as examples, very interesting (notice how "Sesame Street" has gotten very "Blue's Clues"-like since this book came out).
