Journal Entry 1 by Icesong927 from Elizabeth City, North Carolina USA on Monday, March 21, 2005
For Sarah Friedman the chance to journey to the southwest to buy Native Indian art for her family's successful New York store comes at a time of personal transition. Determined to put aside romantic disapointments, she seeks new perspectives in the serenity of the vast desert landscape. Then her car breaks down near the home of a solitary artist on the Navajo reservation....

After years of turmoil, Ben Lonefeather has finally gained control of his life. He devotes his days to his work and caring for the coyotes he rescued as pups. When Sarah Friedman shows up stranded, he grudgingly offers her a room. Their practical arrangement deepens into a connection that leaves them both passionately alive, profoundly changed...and shattered by circumstances that will separate them. As Sarah and Ben seek to build meaningful lives, they will be forced to choose between love and duty, commitment and freedom-and learn to fight for what matters most...

Journal Entry 5 by cougmax from Seattle, Washington USA on Saturday, April 9, 2005
I absolutely loved it! A wonderfully refreshing, new idea that I had not read before, a gallery owner traveling to meet the artists in West. I love strong female leads in their 30's. Sarah was perfect. I loved her uncertainty and passion. I fell in love with Ben too! I want to see the jewelry! I felt the characters were set up well and the relationships were vivid. Sarah's parents, Ben's friends, cousins, and of course the coyotes. What a wonderful side plot.
I want to find other books she has written now. Thank You Icesong for putting this up as a ray!

Received in the mail yesterday. I have to finish a book before I start this one. I should start this sometime this weekend. (I am actually in the middle of 4 books right now but I'll put this on my priority list!) Thank you, I am excited to read this, especially with all the wonderful reviews so far! I've been known to hate something everyone else likes though!

Journal Entry 11 by AMarie from Omaha, Nebraska USA on Monday, June 6, 2005
I'm sorry I had this so long! For what it's worth I loved this book. There's not to many of the NAL Accent books I haven't enjoyed. I was suprised this was more of a romance than I had suspected. A great story about family, families and their cultures, love, extended family, secrets and of coarse...coyotes! The journal entries before me gave me the impression this was more "about" coyotes. So I was a little skeptic about starting a book about wild coyotes, needless to say it must have just been something everyone mentioned but was not ALL about coyotes as I thought it might be! I will look for more by this author, I loved this tale!

I will put in the mail tommorrow to the next reader!

Journal Entry 12 by melinda010100 from Janesville, Wisconsin USA on Friday, June 10, 2005

A sweet, if a bit overly romantic (to me at least) story. Interesting interplay between cultures and generations. Thanks for sharing!!

Sending this to AMarie cos it was on her wishlist. Enjoy!

Journal Entry 21 by AMarie from Omaha, Nebraska USA on Tuesday, January 17, 2006
It's back!!! Oh this is so funny! I put this on my wish-list as a book I wanted for my Personal Collection because I loved it when I read it. Anyway, "hunnyb" sent me a message saying she has a copy and would be happy to send it to me. I didn't realize it would be the exact copy I read. A copy that has traveled far!!! HOW COOL IS THAT? Anyway, now I feel awful for wanting to keep this. Since it is a book that's traveled I feel obligated to keep it moving. So, against my own heart I will put it up as available. This is so cool and so sad!

Journal Entry 22 by AMarie from Omaha, Nebraska USA on Wednesday, March 8, 2006
Sending to Ohio, I have a great bookcrosser there that is going to release it!

Journal Entry 24 by thegoaliegirl from Vancouver, Washington USA on Friday, March 24, 2006
I really enjoyed this book. It took me longer to read than normal (about a week) only because life got in the way almost every single day. I'd be lucky to read more than 10 pages most days. It was well written and I can't wait to read something else by this author! Nothing but praise for this book!

Journal Entry 25 by thegoaliegirl from Vancouver, Washington USA on Friday, March 24, 2006
Would like to turn this into a book ray since it has already traveled so much and isn't done traveling. Since this is my first ray, I'm going to have a few basic rules. Suggestions always welcome!

1. Please try to have this book read within 3 weeks. I know this isn't possible, but if you make an effort to try that is all I can ask.

2. Please journal when you receive the book.

3. When about halfway through, please contact the next person on the list for their mailing address.

4. Please journal again when you've read the book and it is on its way.

5. Have fun! Reading is supposed to be fun!

thegoaliegirl, thanks for making this book a bookring! I recieved it today. I have donned it with a book cover because the first few pages are detaching from the spine. The book cover is a gift for you and should stay with the book until it arrives safely back to you.

I am going on a trip tomorrow to my home state and visiting with my family after an extented illness. I should have the book finished and on it's way to PA in about a week.

Thanks again!

Journal Entry 32 by momx3lovesbooks on Monday, May 15, 2006
Book arrived today! I have 2 in front of it but will get to it soon and will have it read within the 3 week time limit.

The pages of this book are starting to fall out. Just opening it 2 pages landed in my hands. :(

For Sarah Friedman the chance to journey to the southwest to buy Native Indian art for her family's successful New York store comes at a time of personal transition. Determined to put aside romantic disappointments, she seeks new perspectives in the serenity of the vast desert landscape. Then her car breaks down near the home of a solitary artist on the Navajo reservation...

05/23-I really enjoyed this book. All the characters were very true to life and came alive for me.

Im not sure what is going to happen with this book. Two previous readers have told me that the author wants it to keep traveling, and I would love to honor her request. I have mended the pages that have fallen out, and the ripped binding to the best of my ability, it probably *could* travel more. Thegoaliegirl has gotten another copy to finish this ray. This one will continue traveling, but not in a ring/ray fashion.

My mom, AceofHearts, passed away from breast cancer on September 17, 2013. Aside from being one of the best people I know, she was an avid reader and took immense pleasure in Bookcrossing, her book club, and reading many great books. Unfortunately she didn't get around to reading this book.

I will be releasing this in my mom's memory.
