I saw Tim Winton on the Andrew Denton show - Enough Rope - he sounded like a good bloke, so I thought I'd try one of his books.

Straight off the bat I liked his style of writing... Winton paints extremely vivid mind pictures of people and places that I was able to latch onto...

This book was set in Western Australia which was cool as that was a new thing for me.

Kept my interest all day, I couldn't put it down, and completed it that day. Beautifully written and a great aussie tale.
