What a wonderful book!
I loved the way the author described how a painting could touch the lives of people in so many different ways. Strangely, it seems the painting always brings some bad luck or misery to the people it touched :(
I think I'm now an official Vermeer fan :)

I really liked this book, the story of a painting and it´s various owners throughout the years.
It was very interesting to see that the painting represented something differet for every one: a shameful legacy, an heirloom, a simple present, a memory, a means of survival.
Thanks for the loan, flor. :)
