A friend and I were discussing this book, which she has never read, so I'm giving it to her. Actually, she's not a bookcrosser...yet.

Incidentally, this is the 700th book I have released.

A little elf returned this book to me over Christmas break. I hope to reread it.

I recently read The Well of Lost Plots by Jasper Fforde, and I had to laugh at the army of surplus Mrs. Danvers who had to be billeted in other novels. I highly recommend the Thursday Next novels by Fforde. You'll never read the classics the same way again.

The same characters as Rebecca's Tale, which I am bringing to meetup tomorrow so that the person who gave me Rebecca can read it. I already knew the story mostly from the other book.

I picked up this book--again--from the Bookcrossing meeting last night. I couldn't stand for it to go unclaimed!

From the first words, "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again," I was hooked on this novel. The narrator is a young woman, the second wife of Maxim de Winter. Our heroine's name is never mentioned, but every step she takes in Manderley, her new home, is haunted by the name and memory of Rebecca, the beloved first wife. This novel is sinister and suspenseful, for you see, Manderley holds a secret.

I highly recommend this book.

I read this book when my daughter gave it to me. I read the whole thing, but I hated the narrator. She had no personality, and she didn't stand up for herself.

I plan to give this book away. I hope someone else likes it better than I did.
