"Death Notes" is an Inspector Wexford mystery. It's the second book of Rendell's I've read, and I liked it much better than the first ("Adam and Eve and Pinch Me"). There were plenty of satisfying twists and turns in this book, and Wexford is a likable character. It'll be awhile before I have a chance, but I'll probably read another of the Wexford books in the future.

I'm giving this book to a mystery-loving mom at my kids' preschool.
