Another introduction to Wicca, again part of a collection of Witchy books I won off eBay. I've not read this one before, so I'll dip into it now and again -- at least I can be sure it'll be decent, because it's written by Vivianne Crowley -- but I doubt it'll get added to my permanent magickal library. If not, I may bookray it or something.

I've read this now, and found that it is a great little guide to Wicca for anyone who is intrigued by the religion and practice, or those just starting out on their pathway. It is also a good introduction for concerned parents, family friends, and the like, and -- importantly -- I found it an excellent reminder to those already established on their path as to the "basics". It's especially good for teachers or Craft elders, in that it brings the foundations to the forefront and so would be superb as a teaching reference.

The Way of Wicca is separated into the following clear areas:

The Wicca Universe
Nature and Seasons
The Magical Realm
Using Our Magical Energies
Thd Gods
Creating Ritual
Sabbat Rites
Going Further
Groups and Contacts

Each of these sections are comprehensive yet concise, with the clear and down-to-earth attitude that I've come to expect from Vivianne Crowley. There are illustrations and tables of correspondences, along with chants, poems, rituals, meditations and exercises. Overall, then, this is one of the most informative and accurate guides to Wicca available, and is highly recommended.

I found this book interesting and informative enough to read more books about Wicca and on Paganism. I love some of the ideas, but my strict Baptist upbringing makes me afraid of some other areas, even though I question a lot of stuff about my Baptist upbringing. It's opened up a new way of thinking and I will probably continue to read books on this subject.

I will be sending this book back to HeathWitch so she can start a book ring with it!

I'm afraid I've given up on reading this book. I managed a pathetic 24 pages.

I flicked through the rest of it as I felt so bad, but I couldn't get to grips with the exercises and felt that I wasn't doing it justice. Sorry :o(

I'm going to keep a look out for another book on Wicca though as I've always wanted to learn more about it.
