Journal Entry 14 by kizmiaz from Belém , Lisboa (cidade) Portugal on Friday, January 18, 2008
I had a wonderful time reading this book, I’d heard a lot about it but never guessed it was this good (we all know how a great buzz about a book can be very misleading), so thanks a lot Earthdance for this chance.
The story itself is plain and simple (the end of the world is coming…next Saturday after tea), the characters are larger than life (they should be since some of them are not actually living) and the way this is all written is hilarious and the footnotes were really great.
The Armageddon never sounded so funny and you have to love Crowley and Aziraphale, they really are out of this world.
There are plenty of “laugh out loud” situations and some serious ones but what really got me hooked was the way the story itself is told, there’s some really well crafted writing here and even though I didn’t really like the way the authors sorted themselves out of the situation they created (especially the way that episode at the air base unfolds and ends) it’s still worth the time, even if you’re not much of a fantasy fan.
It'll be on its way when I get an address.
11.Feb - mikrh-melody doesn't reply to Pm's I'll try the next in line.
