Quite enjoyable. I loved the descriptions of the Vancouver food scene, and even the more - uh - avant garde recipes favored by our protagonist in the latter half of the book didn't sound half bad. The story was good, but uneven at times. While stories don't always need to finish with loose ends tied up in nice little bows, only two out of three plotlines were resolved which left me feeling a little underwhelmed....but not so much that I wouldn't recommend it to my little foodie friends :)

PMing eicuthbertson for an address.

Thanks librarymousie & wyldewomin!

Since I live in Vancouver & go to Stanley Park often, I am looking forward to reading this.

Well, I wasn't disappointed with this novel.

Since I live in Vancouver & frequently am in Stanley Park, Crosstown & Chinatown, I particulary appreciated the sense of these places that Taylor has given.

In some ways, Vancouver is a city that 'wishes for things', then seems to regret them.

Outsiders, insiders...some hinted at, some fully developed...didn't mind the extra story lines...not everything is resolved, but isn't that 'natural'?

This book is now on its way to Australia.

The book just arrived all the way from Canada, many thanks to eicuthbertson for posting this to me. I am so glad it arrived safely... I can remember when she sent it that we were in the height of summer - now we have the Canadian frosts setting in!!!

I have several rings in front of this (isn't it always the way) and an impending house move so I promise to either read this asap, or keep it safe until I get to my new home and can enjoy it. I hope this is OK, seeing as I am last in line.

wyldewomin, feel free to give me a reminder if you haven't heard from me in a few weeks.

Many thanks to all before me for sharing.

I have tried so hard to get into this book but unfortunately I keep getting lost! The premise of the story sounds great, but I can't work out if I am reading a travelogue, a diary, a mystery, a food review or a family history!

In the confusion, I keep forgetting what I've read, going over it again and still ending up lost! It could also be me - work is crazy and am in the middle of packing up my house ready to move...

Rather than this book get lost in the melee, I'd prefer to send it along home to wyledwomin where it is safe. I appreciate this being sent and shared with me and I am sorry I couldn't get through it.
