an as new copy from a book sale just for bookcrossing

RELEASE NOTES:

If I had only known we'd be stopping at the site where the two rail lines met in the Rocky Mountains over a century ago, I would have brought a copy of 'The Last Spike' by Pierre Berton...as it was all I had was Margaret Atwood to leave , but at least she is a Canadian author! Awesome national site.

My son found it on top of the pay phone and showed me. He still has scars from reading Margaret Atwood for CEGEP, so I took it off him. I started it yesterday, but I'm a slow reader - plenty of time to think of a good place to leave it!

In fact I quite enjoyed this. Margaret Atwood is definitely a master of description. The story unwinds slowly and in great detail. I'm sure a couple of hundred pages could be trimmed off, but you don't read this book for the destination - it's all in the journey. So I guess the longer the journey, the more enjoyable it is.

Now to find somewhere interesting to leave it, and hope I find another one somewhere.
