Journal Entry 2 by noumena12 from Dayton, Ohio USA on Thursday, February 24, 2005
This book is laugh-out-loud funny. And sometimes hit a little too close to home! FROM THE PUBLISHER Every day Laurie Notaro fearlessly rises from bed to defeat the evil machinations of dolts, dimwits, and creepy boyfriends—and that's before she even puts on a bra. She's the leader of the Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club and has gathered some of her wildly amusing exploits and unique life experiences into the uproariously funny daily boxed calendar. She writes about a mother who hands down judgments more forcefully than anyone seated on the Supreme Court, horrific high school reunions, and hangovers that leave her surprised that she woke up in the first place. The book instantly hit the New York Times best-seller list and boasts sales of more than 70,000 in its first four months of publication. This calendar gives readers another way to join the club.

Journal Entry 5 by DumbFox from Lincoln, Nebraska USA on Monday, March 07, 2005
This is a very light, very funny collection of essays. Laurie Notaro is someone every woman can relate to, and somehow, at the same time, a rare, strange bird.

Just finished reading this one on my lunch hour. What a great read! This one had me laughing out loud on a couple of occasions. The Candy Apple Freak Show was hilarious! I can't wait to read her other books. Thanks noumena12 for sharing this great book. Sending this one off to CdnBlueRose, the next bookring participant. I should be heading to the post office in a couple days.

OOPS! Sorry, I actually received this book on March 28 - thought I'd journalled already until I came to look at the next person list to send it along! I've PM'd ekgv414 for an address - I finished the book earlier today and it's ready to go as soon as I hear back! Funny book - good, quick, and entertaining read! Looking forward to the next.

Journal Entry 11 by ekgv414 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Tuesday, April 19, 2005
Just received this book for the bookring. I hope to finish my current book in the next few days, and then I'll start this one and pass it along ASAP! Thanks to noumena12 for organizing this bookring and to CdnBlueRose for sending it along to me. :) (PS to CdnBlueRose - It's appropriate that you had to wait until you got back from vacation - because you wound up sending this package on my birthday. An unintentional birthday gift!)

Journal Entry 12 by ekgv414 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Friday, April 29, 2005
Sadly, after a lot of anticipation, I just didn't really enjoy this book. It wasn't bad, I guess the humor just wasn't my style. Thanks, though, to noumena12 for starting the relay and to CdnBlueRose for passing it along to me, and I'll get it out to the next bookcrosser right away. I hope everyone else does enjoy it!

Notaro has a talent for verbalizing the thoughts that run through our heads that most of us don't have the guts to relate. This was a funny book. Thanks for the opportunity to read it!

It's off...in the mail...I promise! :) Finally sent this funny, funny little book off to the next participant after a few months of pregnancy-induced slackerness (somehow, I feel Laurie would understand). Silly, and full of the crazy stuff we all get ourselves into...enjoy! (And again, sorry for the delay) :)
