If I Gained the World

I enjoyed this book first and foremost b/c it centered around the idea of a life of faith vs. a life without faith. I enjoyed the main character, Lenore, and some of the other characters as well... However, I became frustrated while reading this book b/c the character has soooo many things thrown at her! I understand that it makes for an interesting story to have all of this drama unfold, but I was genuinely upset to see this character go from one huge tragedy to another... And the ending was ridiculous! Soooo unbelievable! Even though a part of me wanted to believe it was a plausible ending, I just couldn't reach that far. After enduring all of this pain and suffering with this character, just to have things resolved so neatly and unbelievably.... What a let down! I was pleased to see that faith in God brought the character through tragedy aplenty and into a happily-ever-after kind of ending, but I hated the exact manner in which Nichols resolved things. You'll understand if you read it. I mean, really! Would you have done what Lenore does in the ending? Oh, well. It's just a book.
