I saw this book on a search for books involving suicide, ordered it on monday it got here today! (thursday)

ugh, this is absolutely one of the worst books i've ever read. girl tries to kill herself...doesn't succeed...ends up in mental hosiptal where she is told she has a week to live due to heart damage caused by the overdose of sleeping pills she took...masturbates and rediscovers to joy of living. it almost felt preachy but because it wasn't religious at all, it was more like coelho was trying to sell the reader on his idiotic philosophy of life, which seemed to be "if you can masturbate yourself into orgasm then life must be worth living". if i wasn't suicidal already, reading this tripe would have made me so.

as evident from my other journal entries, i really thought this book bit, but since there was interest in it for my RABCK, I held onto it. However, the preson who won entered for a different book, so this one went off to oxfam to hopefully find a reader who will enjoy it.

All these years later the book is still doing the rounds... this time I found it on Amazon
