another antho with LKH and maryjanice *swoons*

OK, well, the LKH story ended up just being the first several chappies of Incubus Dreams. That did make me happy, lol. So i just skipped over that considering I've already read ID...

The MAryJanice tale is again in the realm of her Undead series, which kicked ass! Although it was also written from the POV of new char as opposed to Betsy and Sinclair. Personally, i would prefer to read about them, but whatever =]

The Eileen Wilks story was... interesting. I have no clue if some of this is taken from a series or not, but i wasnt that crazy about it. there were a lot of loose holes at the end that i just didnt like...

as for the Rebecca York tale, I liked it fine, but I'm not too craazy about werewolf stories. dont ask me why, i just am, heh

Journal Entry 4 by nafyboocs from Fallston, Maryland USA on Wednesday, February 9, 2005
The book arrived Saturday and I'm almost finished reading it. I've already read Incubus Dreams so I skipped Laurell K Hamilton's story.

I really enjoyed Dead Girls Don't Dancy By Mary Janice Davidson. This is the first story I've read of hers. Now I'm interested in getting the books from her Undead series.

I will write about the last two stories as soon as I finish them.

Journal Entry 5 by nafyboocs from Fallston, Maryland USA on Saturday, February 12, 2005
The third story was ok, but I wasn't crazy about it. It was just a little too weird for me. The final story was enjoyable though.

I mailed the book off to CdnBlueRose today.

Journal Entry 6 by CdnBlueRose from Steinbach, Manitoba Canada on Tuesday, February 22, 2005
Received in the mail February 22 - bookring - will read and journal asap! Thanks!

Journal Entry 7 by CdnBlueRose from Steinbach, Manitoba Canada on Friday, April 15, 2005
Sorry I had this longer than I should have, but it'll be on it's way again tomorrow! Overall, I really enjoyed this book - it was my first taste of all 4 authors and I'll be looking for more... now let's see....

The Laurell K. Hamilton story was intriguing, but actually turned out to be my least favorite of the 4 stories, though she was the only author I had already heard of prior to this book! I'm glad to hear it was the first few chapters of one of her books because it also seemed the most 'incomplete' of the 4 stories included.... I look forward to reading the full novel.

The Mary Janice Davidson story didn't strike me as all that great a story, but it was definitely funny and I enjoyed it enough to want more - now I'd like to read her Undead series.

The Eileen Wilks story was actually my favorite!! It seemed to me that it ventured further into fantasy... let me see if I can put this into words... The LKH and MJD stories were vampires and the like living in modern day society (from what I could tell with these particular stories), whereas the Eileen Wilks story placed the characters in a very different society - perhaps a future (or past?) society but occurring in America with the place names of today's world. I really liked that! I found this one very intriguing and I really wish there was a novel to expand on the idea...??? I couldn't find anything on Amazon, but I'll keep my eyes open for anything else by this author for sure!

Rebecca York's story was intriguing as well.... I enjoyed the mix of the werewolf and the tarot reader... very cool!

Bottom line, all 4 authors are going on my wishlist!! Thank you, Belle Morte, for offering this great book up for a bookring - and again, my apologies for delaying it's journey!

I will be mailing this out to tish2002 tomorrow morning! ENJOY!

I got this today. I will journal again when I finish reading.

Journal Entry 9 by tish2002 on Sunday, May 1, 2005
The first three stories were ok, but I enjoyed the last story the most. That surprised me because I'm a big fan of Laurell K Hamilton and Mary Janice Davidson. I've only read one Rebecca York novel and didn't enjoy it as much as I do theirs.

Thanks for being patient with me, BelleMorte, I was a little over your 30 day rule.

These short stories were great. I have read part of the series by Laurell K. Hamilton, MaryJanice Davidson and Rebecca York. These stories weren't at the same place in the series as I am, but I enjoyed revisiting the worlds anyway. This was my introduction to Eileen Wilks and will be looking for more to read by her.

I have Dadou's address so this book will be in the mail shortly. I'll edit this to let you know exactly when it was posted.

Thanks again for starting this bookring!

Journal Entry 22 by nokturnalmuse from Tampa, Florida USA on Saturday, October 29, 2005
Received this in the mail last week - the original package it was shipped in was damaged and torn open and the post office placed it in a new envelope somewhere along the line before it came to me. There is considerable damage to the cover and the book has what appears to be toner ink all over it. As it turns out, I already have another copy of this sitting on my shelf, so I'm going to pass this on. Despite its poor outward appearance, it is still readable for the rest of the ring members. I'm contacting the next in line.

Journal Entry 23 by lostbookisland on Saturday, December 16, 2006
This book has washed ashore at the Lost Book Island after not being heard from for many months. This new arrival will be shown to a room and be allowed a bit of rest before being introduced to the many fun things to do here at the island.

All around there are books sipping cool drinks under shady palms while other books participate in a wide variety of beach sports. There is plenty of sand, surf and sun here for all of the lost and wayward books to enjoy.

It is hoped that very soon a new journal entry will come to rescue this book from the island and send it back out into the BookCrossing world so that it may continue on its journey. It is hoped that the new journal entry will tell all the interested parties where this book has been this long time and where it will be traveling to next.
