Emma (Penguin Popular Classics)

Plot:
Emma Woodhouse is introduced to us as 'handsome, clever and rich' and, according to Jane Austen, a heroine 'which no one but myself would like'. Yet such is Emma's spirited wit that, despite her superior airs and egotism, few readers have failed to succumb to her charm.
The comedy turns on Emma's self-appointed role as energetic match-maker for her sweet, silly friend Harriet. Emma herself, meanwhile, is confidently immune to the charms of the male sec. Her emotional coming of age is woven into what Ronald Blythe has called 'the happiest of love stories, the most fiendlishly difficult of detective stories and a matchless repository of English wit'.

Since my other bookray for Emma by Jane Austen has been stalled since Sept. 15, 2004, I've decided to restart it with this extra copy I found in a used book store.
When you receive the book from the person before you on the list please make a journal entry stating that you've received it. Then read it as soon as you can (no absolute hurry, but be reasonable please!!), and journal again with your thoughts. You'll then need to private message the person on the list after you for their address. Mail the book, and if you want, make release notes on the book. Then you can just sit back and watch how the book continues on its journey!
Note: Since the bookray has already started on its journey, all additional members must be willing to ship internationally!
Boldfaced member has, or soon will have, their hands on the book...

Ehm sorry, the anonymous finder was me... I didn't log it, sorry...
this book just arrived by mail, safe and sound. thanks a lot.
Just finished to read this book.
It was quite amusing. At first, as always with something that's written in another language and comes from another time, it was hard to keep me interested. But finally the wit of Jane Austen did it: it was very funny and smart, an intelligent sense of humour.
Malu hasn’t answered the PM, so I’m trying to contact the next person on the list: janetcarolina from Peru.

Ooops! Sorry, i got this ray on monday but forgot to journal. Anyways, i'm in the middle of one ring right now and have 2 others before this one. I'll try to go as fast as i can but it might take me some time to read it so please, please, please be patient. Thank you.
I'm so sorry it's taken me forever to get this done, i guess i'm not that much of a good bxer anymore, i finished reading Emma a while ago, of course, and actually enjoyed it, especially cause i'm fond of classics and there's nothing better than sitting on the couch and let yourself dream with a time so distant in the past but still so similar to our actual world when it comes to the feelings of the heart, that i wish i was actually there, and sometimes i feel like i am =P
Anyways, i'm glad i had the chance to read this book, since i had watched the movie years ago and loved it too. I'm afraid, though, i'm not in conditions to sent this one internationally, or anywhere, for that matter, being short of cash, and don't even know if the last person would be willing to receive it after all this years anyway, so, if possible, i thought i could wild release, or even better, hand it to one of the few bookcrossers who come to visit Peru, so it can make it back to the BC world and touch many lives as it did touch mine.
