This caught me completely by suprise!
:)
From the back cover: One of the world's best-loved authors, accompanied by one of the world's most famous photographers, met the Russian people face-to-face. Refreshingly, informally and without political bias, Steinbeck set down his observations on a mighty nation.
First published in 1948 [that rings a bell: oh yeah I was born that year...] with this volume being the 2nd printing of 1970, it will be an interesting contrast to the view we have of Russia today.
The nuget of Steinbeck's writing is his interaction whith people and that doesn't change. It will be good to get his take on the 'everyday' people.
Thank you, Abbynormal: a wonderful suprise...
