I drove up to Canton to pick up a friend and we stopped at the Muggwicz for coffee. While waiting, I was browsing the obligatory bookshelf on their back wall. I was stunned to find a copy of Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies - by far one of my favorite books. I opened the cover and was even more surprised (and excited) to see that it was a BookCrossing novel! I took it and plan to release it somewhere in Columbus (though I haven't decided where yet).

If you see this entry and you haven't read this book, track it down immediately. Lahiri presents one of the most distinctive -- and alluring -- narrative voices of our time. Her prose is beautifully crafted, as are her plots, which I'm confident will be assiduously devoured by students of the art for many years to come.
