Journal Entry 1 by caldron from Brisbane, Queensland Australia on Monday, January 24, 2005
I enjoyed Knightley's 'The First Casualty' (journalism & war) and am looking forward to reading this. Bought at the Brisbane Lifeline Bookfest '05 . . Highly enjoyable read ~ especially if you are familiar with the vagaries of the Australian/British press and in particular Cold War espionage circa 1960-95

Caught the book in July 2005 in Bangkok - given to me by a Bubi, a cool Danish traveller who picked up the book while travelling in Oz. As I just set off on a trip to Central and South America, it took a while before I got around to reading it and it wasn't til late December when I was travelling El Salvador that I got around to read it. I think it's a great book; it's well written, informative and at times funny however, I do think you need to know Australian AND British history rather well in order to set all the events in context. Having grown up in Holland, I was unfamiliar with quite a few events...

Journal Entry 3 by Bubio from København K - City, København Amt Denmark on Sunday, March 26, 2006
You get dragged into the writers world. First of all, because he describes a lot of places I have actually been, and second, it is just exciting to read about all the things that can happen in your life and how things are sometimes connected, in a weird and wonderful way. CAUGHT IN BRISBANE QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
