Journal Entry 1 by BelleMorte from Tuscaloosa, Alabama USA on Saturday, January 22, 2005
just finshed and realized i never reg'd it... ehhh, its OK. i was expecting it to be a lil more plot driven than it was, but it wasnt totally bad. I'm in bookrings to read the other two in the series so i want to know what happens but i will never read it again: Readers weary of the tortured, brooding, all-too-serious vampires that often populate paranormal romance novels will appreciate Sands's (The Loving Daylights, etc.) cheeky, madcap tale about an immortal who finds eternal happiness with his editor. Reclusive Lucern Argeneau, a family biographer who has been classified as a paranormal romance author, is stunned when Kate C. Leever, his new editor at Roundhouse Publishing (read: Dorchester), shows up on his doorstep demanding he make a public appearance to appease his fans. After some urging from the beguiling Kate, he agrees to go to the Romantic Times convention, little knowing that he'll have to contend with adoring fans and a week full of parties and signings. Some of the plot twists verge on the absurd-such as when Luc's codpiece sticks to a tablecloth at a Renaissance ball, or when Kate fells an attacker with a pillow-and Kate's reluctance to admit her feelings for Luc because she assumes she's "just supper" to him is aggravating. Still, vampire lovers will find themselves laughing throughout. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information, Inc.

How exciting! I just got this today - thanks very much! Going on the top of Mt. TBR - and I do mean Mt. - as in mountain - although mine is more of a mountain range!

Loved it! I thought this was better than Sex and the Single Vampire. I can't wait to read the next one! This is fun, light, fast reading. I liked her version of the vampire condition and enjoyed the characters and story. I hope the rest of the series is as good.

Thank you nokturnalmuse! I was on a bookring for another copy of this book, but it got stalled with the first participant. I'll use this book to replace the stalled copy as soon as I've read it myself. This book is first in publication order, but should actually be read as 3rd in the Argeneau Vampires series. See The Argeneau Series for more information. List of books in the series: (order published) 1. Single White Vampire (September 2003) 2. Love Bites (January 2004) 3. Tall, Dark & Hungry (July 2004) 4. A Quick Bite (November 2005) 5. A Bite to Remember (June 2006) 6. Bite Me If You Can (February 2007) Here's the chronological order: 1. A Quick Bite 2. Love Bites 3. Single White Vampire 4. Tall, Dark & Hungry 5. A Bite To Remember 6. Bite Me If You Can

Journal Entry 6 by CandyDarling from Helsinki, Uusimaa Finland on Tuesday, March 27, 2007
Single White Vampire, the first book published in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau-series (but actually the third book in chronological order) was an okay paranormal romance. It was entertaining enough to read through, but I never got that excited feeling that tells me I'm reading a really great book. In typical romance fashion, the main characters go through a lot of "funny" mishaps, while at the same time denying their feelings for each other, only to finally confess their love and live happily ever after. I think I might have read a few romance books too many in my search for good vampire books... Lynsay Sands has created her own type of vampires, a technologically advanced race people from the mythic Atlantis, who just before the city's fall developed a vampire virus that enables them to have exceptionally long lives. I loved how Lucern explained this in the book... "I won't bother explaining the whole of it, but suffice it to say..." LOL, way to go when you have no clue about science! Anyway, Single White Vampire was funny, but not laugh out loud funny. I'm a bit hesitant to try Lynsay Sands' other books, there are so many better books out there. The funniest part was when Luc watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer on TV: "Did you see that? Buffy just staked that poor vampire. He had yet to do anything even untoward, he just crawled out of his grave and she staked him. That is just not right!" :)

Journal Entry 10 by cathepsut from Metzingen, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Saturday, April 14, 2007
Description from Amazon: "This uproariously hilarious romance features an intrepid romance editor, Kate C. Leever, who goes to Toronto to convince reclusive romance writer Lucern Argeneau to do some publicity. She has no idea that he is a gorgeous, silvery-eyed 612-year-old vampire, and that the characters in his best-selling vampire romance novels have the same names and occupations as members of his family. Sizzlingly sensuous sex is appropriate to the plot and pacing, adding to the delight of Sands' tale, the first installment in the Argeneau series." I did not like it. Good idea with a lot of comic potential. But the characters have the emotional and intellectual maturity of 12-year olds. The comic interludes were pretty lame, I think I laughed once. I like brain candy as much as the next girl, but this was just too shallow and simplistic. Nope, pass. Will send it off, as soon as I have the next address.

Another great book in this serries. I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first, mainly I think because the female lead was a bit bolshy. But it was still a great book and I look forward to more by this lady

This was really good. I enjoyed it a lot more than a Quick Bite. A Quick Bite threw too many unfamiliar characters at me at once. I had to keep a cast list to keep it straight. Of course, I was already familiar with some of them because of A Quick Bite, so maybe that's why I didn't have the problem with this one. I thought this one was more cute and funny. I enjoy Lynsay Sands books because of the humor in them. I've got a bunch more to go with this series. I understand that she has 3 more books in this series due to come out over the next year or so.
