A Home at the End of the World : A Novel
4 journalers for this copy...
From the author of The Hours comes another introspective look at life. This time it revolves around three people ane the choices they make in life. Having never read Cunningham before, it took a while to understand the flow of his prose. Ultimately, I would say this book was depressing and touching...artfully crafted.

From my wishlist, received as a bookrelay book from CarynPic. Thanks a lot.
05/23/2005 - I am just starting this book but jcoelho posted on bookrings looking for a ring/ray for this book so I will send this off in a ray when I am done. Anyone wanting to join, just PM your location and any shipping restrictions. This is one of the larger sized paperbacks (can't think what they are called right now) but it is not very thick. It should not be too expensive to mail.
05/30/2005 I finished this book last night and enjoyed reading it but did occasionally want to just sort of smack the characters and tell them to just stop complaining and enjoy what they had. It was pretty similar to "The Hours" in general tone and writing style. Cunningham does have a wonderful way of capturing emotions but there are times his characters seem mostly one dimensional and amazingly self centered.
This is going out on a ray as soon as I get the first address: Current order is:
Book mailed to jcoelho on 06/02/2005
1. Argoitz (formerly jcoelho) - Portugal- received 06/09/2005 - As of 01/10/2006 book will be moving on soon. Thanks for your PM's. I don't mind bookrings getting delayed since I do understand that life happens but appreciate knowing that the book is still in good hands.
2. BooksnBeer - USA
3. vcrain - USA
4. Eucalia - USA (If you can't ship internationally to Fio-dagua, PM me)
5. Fio-dagua - Portugal (added 06/02/2006)
If anyone else want to read the book I will add them in.

I just got this from the mail, thanx LyekkaMarengo, I'm looking forward in reading, I saw the movie and didn't like the ending so reading the book will allow me to know this story a bit further. Will try and read it fast, and then release it to the otherbookcrosser in line. Obrigado (thanx in portuguese).
Hello. Finally finished reading this book. I must say...I found it quite boring at times. Maybe it's the writing style of the author that does not appeal to me, because I enjoyed the movie a lot (although the ending was poor).
Have PMed BooksnBeers 2 days ago for her/him address but haven't heard anything yet. Too much beers and not enough books or the other way around (just kidding!! portuguese humour)...
Will pop it in the post as soon as I have it. Thanx Lyekka, and don't forget to visit Lisbon sometime.
