Journal Entry 1 by caldron from Brisbane, Queensland Australia on Thursday, January 13, 2005
Tess is one of my all-time favourite books; Hardy's use of language is near perfect in describing Tess' struggles against the backdrop of the changing seasons and countryside in which she dwells. I 'had' to read this book for my English 'A' levels and didn't really get into it then, but something drew me back years later and it has since been close to my heart. I hope it provides as much pleasure to you as it continues to do for me :) Enjoy!
