If Only You Knew How Much I Smell You : True Portraits of Dogs

awesome coffee-table book, cute pictures & accompanying sayings
This charming collection teams up dog portraits by Valerie Shaff with verse by humorist Roy Blount Jr., to give us an original and entertaining portrayal of what dogs really think. Who hasn't looked into a dog's eyes and wondered what's going on in that furry head? What do dogs make of us? The answers are found in this hilarious book of 50 evocative canine countenances giving voice to the inner dog. Roy Blount's verses--written from the dog's point of view--tell us the meaning of the quizzical expressions and soulful looks Valerie Shaff's camera catches so well: "What does that mean, 'expensive shoe'?/ I ate it because it smelled like you."
Reserved for trade with LaurieS.
This book looks absolutely adorable. Thank you so much for sharing it with me. I may send it out on a ring when I've finished. Will write more later. . .
This is such an adorable book both my kids and I have gone through it several times. My favorite is the page featuring a dozing lab who happens to look just like my lazy chocolate lab and the caption reads "Huh? Get up? I'm up" My other favorite is the shot of three goldens on the beach and their "ode to the sea". I'm going to leave this at my vet's office soon.

My 4 yr old twin sons and I caught the book at the vet's office while waiting for our dog to come out of surgery. It was uplifting and put a smile on our faces and a project in our hearts and heads. Thank you!
