Journal Entry 1 by woosang from Campbelltown, New South Wales Australia on Tuesday, February 15, 2005
From separate catastrophes two rural families flee to the city and find themselves sharing a great, breathing, shuddering joint called Cloudstreet, where they begin their lives again from scratch. For twenty years they roister and rankle, laugh and curse until the roof over their heads becomes a home for their hearts. Tim Winton's funny, sprawling saga is an epic novel of love and acceptance. Winner of the Miles Franklin and NBC Awards in Australia, Cloudstreet is a celebration of people, places and rhythms which has fuelled imaginations world-wide.

I finished the book a few days ago. It was a wonderful read. In places, it reminded me of Alexis Wright's Carpentaria. Quick was wonderful. Tim Winton made you feel as if you lived in cloudstreet. Great!!!
It is now on its was to queenfrog as a RABCK!! Enjoy.

This was waiting for me after I got home last night from vacation. Thanks so much
Well, this one has been on my TBR shelf for way too long but I did finally read it. I found it hard to follow in the beginning but soon got into it. I could picture everything so well and imagine the feelings they went through. Thanks for sharing. Now ready to find a new home.
