I'll be honest, the first time I tried to read this book, I didn't get beyond the second chapter. After seeing the movie, however, I was willing to give it a second try. I'm glad I did. Since I read this book quite a while ago (and have read many books since), I can't remember all the details of this complicated story, but I do remember that Inman meets many more interesting characters along the road home than portrayed in the movie.

Let's put it this way, I just ordered a used hardback edition from Amazon.com to keep in my permanent collection.

This is a complete surprise!

I am currently living with my husband at my new place and keep coming to my old home to pick up mail and water our plants, and imagine my surprise when my neighbour handed me this parcel.
I thought it was a Ring/Ray book and when I logged in I realised its a RABCK!

Thank you so much Boksandjava, I really wanted to read this book and have held off watching the movie until I read it first.
