Journal Entry 1 by FiBe from Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, January 11, 2005
I enjoyed this book, it was both funny and slightly worrying (especially if you have read Fast Food Nation or Stupid White Men) as the big corporations rule the world in this book. Blurb from the back: Taxation has been abolished, the government has been privatised, and employees take the surname of the company they work for. It's a brave new corporate world, but you don't want to be caught without a platinum credit card - as lowly Merchandising Officer Hack Nike is about to find out. Trapped into building street cred for a new line of $2,500 sneakers by shooting customers, Hack attracts the barcode-tattooed eye of the legendary Jennifer Government. A stressed out single mom, corporate watchdog, and government agent who has to rustle up funding before she's allowed to fight crime, Jennifer Government is holding a closing down sale - and everything must go.

Journal Entry 5 by mrsjones from Hamilton, Ohio USA on Tuesday, March 08, 2005
This isn't the sort of book I usually read. I'm not really into science fiction or fantasy, but I thought this had some interesting elements. The idea that people were identified by the companies they work for hooked me. Gives a whole new meaning to the idea that people base their personal ideantities on what they do for a living. Thanks for sharing. I'll pass this along.

Journal Entry 9 by icekween01 from St. Louis, Missouri USA on Thursday, April 07, 2005

Very interesting...I'm not convinced that corporations don't already participate in some of the 'situations' that were presented in the book. I wouldn't put it past them. An easy and enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing!! I will send this on to the next reader asap. Happy Bookcrossing!!

Journal Entry 15 by lostbookisland on Sunday, September 24, 2006

This book has washed ashore at the Lost Book Island after not being heard from for many months. This new arrival will be shown to a room and be allowed a bit of rest before being introduced to the many fun things to do here at the island. All around there are books sipping cool drinks under shady palms while other books participate in a wide variety of beach sports. There is plenty of sand, surf and sun here for all of the lost and wayward books to enjoy. It is hoped that very soon a new journal entry will come to rescue this book from the island and send it back out into the BookCrossing world so that it may continue on its journey. It is hoped that the new journal entry will tell all the interested parties where this book has been this long time and where it will be traveling to next.
