It's with me ... I promise to treat it very, very carefully :-)
I've finally had some time to pick up this book.
This was my first Neil Gaiman, I admit, I'd never read any of his books. Shame on me. For a first try, this wasn't bad, but I have to admit that the Sandman comic is much much better.
The story is interesting, especially if you know the Marvel Universe. You can identify several guest cameos, that don't have a big role in the story but that are only there for the fans. I only have a problem with this story: the fact that it deals with time travell, something that I've never been able to agree with, even in comics. Lets just say that this is the recurring theme in comics that I still have problems with.
Anyway, I liked seeing this new look on my favorite characters. And I especially liked the fact that in Wolverine from the X-Men din't show up. Maybe they forgot, because he's usually in every major story.
Oh, and I can't forget to mention the art. This is, for me the best part of this book. I'm a big fan of the Kubert brothers, and this book proved to be another favorite. I also liked the art in the covers, the fact that they used a different technique that is really in touch with the theme of the book was a great addition.
Once again, thanks for the loan, fflloorr!

I've had this book with me for a while now, but I didn't have the BCID so couldn't journal it. I started reading this graphic novel in portuguese but fflloorr offered to loan me the original and complete version (a beautiful hardback edition with a little comic at the end featuring the writer and the artist!). I've read it and I loved it. I fell in love with the art and those amazing colours from the moment I set my eyes on them. The story is an incredible new interpretation of beloved characters in the past, and it gripped me from start to finish. I love Neil Gaiman's writing, and this is another great work of his. Thanks for lending this to me, fflloorr. I'll give it back to you when we next meet.
There are many things that I would like to say about this book but I’ll only say a few. The history itself it’s quiet interesting, very good indeed. The problem for me is the characters. Why the characters? Well, probably the main reason for not loving the characters is in my inadaptation (how do I write this) to them. I mean I grew up with Marvel books (editora Abril recordam-se) and my best-loved hero was, still is Peter Pan and on this book he’s not what I expected. Not that I expected anything bur I think that this kind of characters just don’t fit in in this kind of story. For me this same story with regular, with no powers, unknown characters would reveal itself as a great one.
About the art: this hi-class Marvel’s art and it’s all said here!
One last thing, it’s just me or did anyone else noticed that there are 16 repeated pages between the end of the fourth and the beginning of the fifth chapter. I’ve read this repeated pages over and over again to see if the were anything different about them (I thought that maybe they were put there on purpose) bur I didn’t found anything different about them.
Than you fflloorr, it was really worthy!
