This was my first Neil Gaiman, I admit, I'd never read any of his books. Shame on me. For a first try, this wasn't bad, but I have to admit that the Sandman comic is much much better. The story is interesting, especially if you know the Marvel Universe. You can identify several guest cameos, that don't have a big role in the story but that are only there for the fans. I only have a problem with this story: the fact that it deals with time travell, something that I've never been able to agree with, even in comics. Lets just say that this is the recurring theme in comics that I still have problems with. Anyway, I liked seeing this new look on my favorite characters. And I especially liked the fact that in Wolverine from the X-Men din't show up. Maybe they forgot, because he's usually in every major story. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the art. This is, for me the best part of this book. I'm a big fan of the Kubert brothers, and this book proved to be another favorite. I also liked the art in the covers, the fact that they used a different technique that is really in touch with the theme of the book was a great addition. Once again, thanks for the loan, fflloorr! |
