The Dirty Girls Social Club
4 journalers for this copy...
The Dirty Girls Social Club was formed by six very diffferent Latina women who met at college in Boston and swore they'd be friends for the rest of their lives. They all feel perfectly licensed to tell each other what to do and how to live their lives, and boy do they ever!
I finished this book about 10mins ago, and I quite enjoyed it. It follows the lives of 6 very different Latina women, with their daily dramas, ups & downs, and most importantly - friendships (the back cover likens it to "Sex and the City", but I don't think it's *that* sexy!)
I found that I could identify with each of the characters in some way (except for the Aztec vampiress named Cuicatl!), and although the character development was not particularly deep I still felt 'connected' with the girls.
It's written in chapters from the viewpoints of all the girls, so there's 6 very different styles of storytelling, often writing about the same thing but with a totally different outlook.
Recommended for a fun, quick read.
