Great book from a first time novelist. I like how we knew enough about the main character but were not bogged down in details. An actual mystery that kept me guessing, rare treat and I was thrilled. A&R $5 rack!

I didn't know that this was the author's first novel, but it explaines why I was at first unconvinced by this book; I found it a little amaturish. However, the story was good and by the middle I was totally hooked. I really liked the unique perspective of the main character - it certainly put a new twist on the romance angle. There was one quote that I totally loved - "I just felt that he was the kind of person who might benefit one day from being repeatedly told that he was unlikeable". It wasn't up there with the best crime novels I have read, but it kept my attention and that is pretty rare these days.
