Journal Entry 3 by h2owe2 from Australind, Western Australia Australia on Saturday, January 29, 2005
This book has returned to it's roots in West Australia. I was living in Mt Helena (a town adjacent to Chidlow) when Albert's book was first released. I knew of his book (and TV mini-series) and have been to many of the places he describes. Many of the events in Albert's life parallel the fictional events portrayed in the Aussie film 'Gallipoli' and Albert's earlier life was not that disimilar to that of my own grandfather (who had his own team of bullocks to haul timber in the Otway ranges in Victoria before he was 14 years old). I commend this book to anyone as a window into our not-to-distant past.

RELEASE NOTES:

I mentioned my recent introduction to bookcrossing to a workmate who was flabbergasted - he had registered with bookcrossing only that morning. We intend to release quite a few books in our local area to spread this excellent pastime to our small corner of the world. - I passed on this book to him as an initial contribution.
