Christopher Dunn is a leading "alternative" Egyptologist. Aware of the shakiness of the conventional view that the Giza pyramids were built as tombs for the Pharaohs, Dunn studies the Great Pyramid with the professional gaze of an engineer. What he sees is a power plant.

This is a brilliant exercise in reverse engineering. His hypothesis does however contain a seriously large "black box": he cannot explain precisely what form of propulsion drove the plant. Therefore he cannot create a working model that functions in accordance with his perception of the pyramid's design and purpose.

Still I feel Dunn has taken steps in the right direction. His incidental proofs of seriously advanced technology in Ancient Egypt are compelling. The users of this technology did not create the complexity of the Great Pyramid for it to serve as a mere tomb.

So why did they create it? We still don't know.

Miketroll was a much treasured Bookcrosser who sadly died in January this year. His family have passed on his books to be released in his memory. Mike was passionate about books and thoroughly enjoyed spreading his love of reading by dispersing his books through the Bookcrossing community. Hopefully a little of that magic will continue to travel through your enjoyment of one of his books.

A very interesting and enjoyable read. I've always found the ancient Egyptians fascinating. We may never know what the real function of the pyramids was but those old Egyptians were pretty clever. If only I had a Tardis.
