Amazon.co.uk "The Colour of Magic is Terry Pratchett's maiden voyage through the bizarre land of Discworld. His entertaining and witty series has grown to more than 20 books, and this is where it all starts--with the tourist Twoflower and his hapless wizard guide, Rincewind ("All wizards get like that... it's the quicksilver fumes. Rots their brains. Mushrooms, too."). Pratchett spoofs fantasy clichés--and everything else he can think of--while marshalling a profusion of characters through a madcap adventure." honestly, I have no idea what all the fuzz is about. I gave up after about 200 pages (see - I DID try), but at that point I did not care what would happen next.

Thank you, concertina! The book arrived today and I also think I will like it better than you. ;-) I think, Terry Pratchett is an author who you either are amazed and fascinated from or you "have no idea what all the fuzz is about"!!! Thanks again for giving me the book. I will read it as soon as possible. Hanna

First, I have to admit that I didn't understand everything. ;-) It was quite difficult and I think I wouldn't have understood anything, if I handn't know the discworld. Then I have to say that the colour of magic is not the best discworld novel I've read. In my opinion it gets exciting when the dragons appear. But then it's rather fun. I don't know yet, if i shall release the book again or keep it until I have read it a second time or what. Hanna
