It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.Traveling Mercies: Some Thoughts on Faith

This book was recommended and looks like a quick read. Don't know what to expect from it but will probably turn my attention to reading it sometime this weekend.
This book was an interesting experience for me.
In a series of narrations, Anne Lamott, tells us much about her life and her reluctant and maybe even miraculous (given her role models) journey to becoming a Christian and the difference it made in her life.
At times difficult and sad to read, it also had moments of deep insight and humor. Many times the author comes off as very flippant and although I don't agree with many of her beliefs I did find myself understanding and even identifying with her in places and laughing out loud ... such as
"But all the ones who believe in God told me to pray, so I did. Here are the two best prayers I know: "Help me, help me, help me", and "Thank you, thank you, thank you"...."
If you can make it through the parts that are uncomfortable and the sometimes crass language, there's much that can be learned here. It's well worth the time it takes to read .
From the book: "Traveling mercies", the old people at our church said to her when she left. This is what they always say when one of us goes off for a while. Traveling mercies; love the journey, God is with you, come home safe and sound...........
