Another wonderful present from a wonderful bookcrosser! Thank you, BigJohnLefty!!

I've decided to keep this journal on my bookcrossing shelf, while I ponder possibilities for it. I may use it as a personal journal, but then again, it might find a new life in some other way...

I am looking forward to taking part in one of your "anything goes" bookrings. Who knows, maybe I'll be inspired to start something similar with this Statue of Liberty blank book!

By the way, I love the cover of this journal. Funny - we had a foreign exchange student from France stay with us for a few weeks last year. I wanted to give her a going away present when she left us, and I found a little journal with a black and white photo of the Statue of Liberty. (We live near Philadelphia, and that's not far from NYC, so the girl and her group from France actually did get to see "Lady Liberty.") Anyway, I was delighted that I found such a perfect gift to give to our new friend (especially loved the France/American connection that the Statue of Liberty represents). However, I almost wanted to keep the present because I liked it so much myself, lol. And now I have a Statue of Liberty journal of my own!

Thanks again for your generosity!

I came home, this evening, to find a package on the kitchen counter waiting for me. Inside was rainbowbabe's Journaleers Journal ring, a little prize for participating (love it - it's on my fridge!), a lovely postcard and a very engrossing journal entry by rainbowbabe, the originator and first journaleer in this ring.

I'll admit to being a bit daunted by her flowing, well-written entry and its thought-provoking tone. I had expected to jot a quick page about what I'd done that day, maybe make a quirky 'isn't life funny' sort of observance and then send it on. I'm sure rainbowbabe wouldn't mind if I did but, now, I'm on a mission to write something slightly more profound than "I had carrots with dinner tonight; they were yummy". ;) Thanks, rainbowbabe, for letting me be a part of your journal.

"I've got sand in my pants, sand in my pants, sand in my pants. It's my lucky day!" :)

Received today and just a quick glance at what is inside has brought a smile to my face, on a not so pleasant day. It is things like this journal that show what a wonderful group of people BookCrossers are.

Thanks so much for the postcard, SpedBug!

Update July 20: On its' way to WintersQT4ever

Journal Entry 7 by WintersQT4ever from Ypsilanti, Michigan USA on Friday, July 22, 2005
As the door bell rang, I opened the door and sitting on the porch was a package for me! I tore it open with such excitment and saw the journal, finally it has arrived here!

If I write, it will be short, we are in the middle of painting my room, and I am quite busy.

Rainbowbabe- I love the special surprise, I have already situated it on my fridge.

Yea! Now, my guilt complex has kicked into high gear. I'll ponder a few days, then try to live up to the others.

I'm soooo excited to read this journal. I've been looking forward to it for quite awhile, and feel especially connected to it since I've been "substitute teaching" the Journaleers since rainbowbabe's absence. RBB-thanks so much for starting this group, for getting me so enthusiastic about journaling again.

To all the Journaleers who may have thought that the thread died when RBB's computer crashed: Nope! I still do roll call, only I've started posting it on Sunday evenings, Central Standard Time. Here is the thread: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/5/2475672/Journaleer-Roll-Call:-Week-#30----We%27re-still-here!

We'd love to see more of you there! I'm always open to homework ideas, and I always try to respond to every post. If the thread is simply getting too long to load again, let me know, and I'll start a new one!

Anyway, I look forward to reading everything the Journaleers have written. Thanks a bunch!

09/15/05: Mailed yesterday. Enjoy!

O.O

This has been in my possession for---
a while.

I apologize to those behind me for this delay--my life exploded and I've only just found my head. (well, and my fingers, obviously)

Details will be in my journal entry.

I've PM'd the next in line and will mail as soon as I have her address.

Postman woke me up yesterday morning with this - it wouldn't fit in the mailbox, lol :D

I have enjoyed reading everyone's entries and feeling that I know the people behind the screennames a little bit better :)

I have limited time this week, because of homework and a midterm today, but next week is Reading Week, so I can make time then.
