Can You Keep a Secret?
16 journalers for this copy...
I really liked this book. It's of course as predictable as any chik lit. I liked the main character Emma, who is much more likeable and easier to identify with than Becky Bloomwood. I recommend that anyone, who wants to read this book, doesn't read the back cover or any review of this book beforehand. I'll try to organize a bookring so that others can read this too.
Here are the rules of this ring:
Each ring member has one month’s time to read the book, after which he/she will PM the next member in the ring and ask for his/her address for sending the book forward. Preferably use normal mail as by surface mail it can take a month for the book to reach the next reader. When you receive the book, make a journal entry right away, so that others know where the book is. After the last person in the ring has read the book he/she mails it to me.
If you are for some reason no longer interested in the book, please PM me and I take you off the list.
List goes as follows: (I try to group you by country)
1.
Margih (Finland, Tampere)
2.
em64 (Finland, Tampere, can mail internationally)
3.
Intrycksflikka (Finland, Turku, can mail internationally)

Sent to Margih today January 10, 2005. :)
Thanks Kiala, the book has arrived. I have couple of bookrings ahead this one, but I have good time for reading, fortunately :)
Great story! I have 20 pages left, so I´ll tell more about my thoughts of this book later. I´ll take this book to tonight´s meeting and give it to em64, who´s the next reader in the ring.
****************************************************
So, I liked this book very much, it was so entertaining! I really laughed many times and I had a good feeling while reading this book. And funny, sometimes some parts in Emma´s story sounded so familiar... I mean, when thinking about real life, mine or mine friends!
There are at least two books by Kinsella I haven´t read and I´m really looking forward to get to read these books.
Got this from margih at the meetup today. Will start reading it soon-ish...
Looks like my soon-ish is something like 2-3 days... Anyway, the book is a quick read and quite funny. Though, at first Emma seemed a little bit over the edge with all her little white lies (the same problem as with Becky Bloomwood in the Shopaholic series) but luckily the author managed to keep her within the limits of reasonable. And there was a good point at the end; it is easier to live if you don't tell even the white little lies... well, almost never, everybody is entitled to some secrets.
Will be sending it to ritao.

Happy Reading!
The book arrived yesterday. Seems to be a light, fast and fun read over the weekend. Will start it right away when I get home from work =)
I absolutly loved the book. Finally a chick lit caracter that I could relate to. My best read this year and the best chick lit I've read so far. =)Thank you for sharing kiala. Will now mail the book to ritao!
Thanks, I got the book today and will begin to read it tonight. I have somehow high expectations 'cause I like chick-lit and have enjoyed Kinsella's Shopaholic books before. Also, the readers before me have rated this quite high...well, we'll see!
Well, it just happened that I got sick just before Easter so I had nothing else to do than read. I've now read Can You Keep A Secret? and thought it was all-in-all quite average womens fiction book. Nevertheless, the reading experience was as entertaining as I expected it to be and the book even made me laugh every now and then. At first the main character annoyed me with her airyheadness but after a while I got used to it. I can recommend this for people who, like me, enjoy fun, light reading which hardly requires any intellectual activity.
Will forward the book to Piiku this week.
I got this book today, together with a cute postcard, thank you ritao. The book I'm reading currently can wait, I'll start with this tonight.
I really enjoyed this book, as ritao I sometimes like to read books that don't require very high IQ. Of course I have it, but...
Sending to Tiikeri on April 11th.
I received the book from Piiku yesterday (Thanks!). As I'm reading another bookring-book at the moment this one has to wait a bit. But I'll hurry up.
When I started this novel I had the same problem as some readers before me: I didn't really like Emma - she seemed quite superficial.
But this impression changed soon and at some point I found it hard to put the book down. So instead of doing all the stuff I should have done for university I just spent yesterday's afternoon reading. My boyfriend got pretty irritated by me laughing out loudly from time to time.
I wouldn't say I could identify with Emma but I really liked her in the end. And i think i will try the author's other novels as well.
Thanks for sharing this book with me. I will send it on as soon as I get Jolanda's address.
The book was sent off on Saturday.
Safely arrived in Rotterdam. I look forward to the read.

I just received this in the mail today!
I really enjoyed this book! Thank you for turning it into a ring. I had quite a few LOL moments as I read along.
Arrived safe and sound -- thank you! I'll read it asap and get it moving to the next reader.
This was a fun read -- thanks for starting this bookring, kiala! I have PM'd for the next address.
Mailed to illinicheme on 7/29 @ ~17:00.
This was a decent chick lit novel, with a character that was much more sympathetic than the insufferable Becky Bloomwood. Nice veg-out reading.
Thanks for sharing! It's on its way to atnaturesmercy.
Received yesterday safely! I'll start on it ASAP. :)
I loved this! I actually liked it better than the Shopaholic series because Emma was such a likeable character. Thanks so much for sharing this one, kiala.
It's on its way to kimsbooks03. :)
Arrived yesterday. I will be starting this in a couple of days.

Bookring in Montrose, Pennsylvania USA on Sunday, September 18, 2005
This book arrived just in time. I needed a light fun read during a hectic work week.
Sophie Kinsella, never disappoints. I didn't know if I would enjoy Emma Corrigan as much as I love Becky Bloomwood from the Shopaholic Series. I found Emma just as likeable as Becky. I found myself laughing out loud so many times during this book.
Thank you so much kiala for allowing me to read this book.

10/6/05 - Finished. Thought this was a great read. Emma is a very likeable character and I can definately relate to her. Will be on it's way to Luintaurien in tomorrow's post.
Got it today. Thank you. Will read and pass on ASAP.
