Finally done with this tiny book. It has four of Poe's more chilling tales - The Pit and the Pendulum, The Black Cat, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Premature Burial.
Took me a brief online search to find out what the stories really are about; but they are enjoyable all the same - they gave me the goosebumps and had some trouble sleeping after that. Never read them before bed.
Now to read the detective stories which supposedly inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle...

Reserved for MeGeerts - On it's way to Scotland as soon as I re-read this again.
Arrived safely. Thank you!
I loved this one. Truly creepy!
Picked up at the book festival meet. It was great to meet you all, thanks for a fun day.
One of these 4 is on the 1001 books to read before you die.

This was a great read.several seemed familiar and I'm not sure if that is because I'd read them before, or because the premise is so universal, and has been used elsewhere.
