When I saw that this was just one tape, I was disappointed. But then, by the time side 2 came on, I was grateful. A tense drama about banned books SHOULD be the type of story that SciFi is especially adept about portraying, what with its allegorical constructs and what not.

Not in this case, I'm afraid. And the irony of the Otherworlder subplot is just overlooked and, in the end, terribly deflated in its reveal.

6 out of 10

This was so much better than the other two Star Trek audiobooks I have listened to, but those were not adapted to audio from novels but from video games. But thats another story.

I got into this book a little more than Greyflank and was interested to see how the story unfolded, however I was disappointed how it did not end with much of a bang but more of a fizzle.

I think it would have been better if everyone would have been living in a fictional world and the folks that were aposing the fictional book world were actually just characters from Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. Ok, maybe that doesn't work exactly, but it would be a cool to have something like that.
