Thanks pawpad for this swap. Have added it to Mount Toobie, and when I'm done with it I think I'll pass it on to my mum for a peek before I send it on.

At first I fought against this book, thinking that it was going to be soppy and American, or pushing religion. I was pleasantly surprised. It was actually an interesting concept, and well written enough to draw me in.

I'm going to pass this on, after my other half has had a read.
Thanks pawpads :)

This book is now going on a ray to:
Akg
Glitterlover
blaisezabini12 - Romania (feel free to post the book back to me and I'll send to Romania if you want).

Received in the post this morning. Unfortunately I have a mass of other rings to read first, but I'll get round to this as soon as I can, especially as I've wanted to read this for some time.

I have to admit this book irritate me from the start as there is so much unused space on each page I got the impression that the publishers were trying to pad out the book. However as I got into the story, the concept of five people explaining your life became more intriguing; especially when you realise you may never have known the people who have had the most impact on your life. Then I discovered that the last 15 pages were advertising another book, yet more padding and I was back to being irritated.

I think the book is worth reading for the novel concept of heaven, however I think it is expensive for such a short book, but if you want a quick and easy book go for it!

Journal Entry 10 by GlitterLover from Leyland, Lancashire United Kingdom on Thursday, May 19, 2005
I managed to pick up a copy of this at a book sale the other day and read it in a day. I enjoyed the fact that it is a gritty version of the Alchemist and other such self awareness enhancing books. I found it very moving and blubbed at the end (I didn't read the additional chapter for his other book). I will recomend it to people as I think it provokes an interesting review of life the universe and everything.
I also found it amusing that it was in the religious books section of the church sale but i didn't find it particularly Christian - may even be offensive to many Christians.
Thanks for sending it to me - will send it on when I have the address.

Thank you GlitterLover for sending this book to me (the chocolate eggs were really good:)) and thank you Winterson for organising this ray!
Today when I picked up the book from the post office I was with my friend (BCusername: jade405) and as I have another book to read at the moment the book is with her (and she has already read half of it:)) - I look forward to her journal entry.

I read the book yesterday afternoon, because I just couldn't put it down. It's an envolving read and very interesting, if you're not easily offended by another's idea of heaven. A bit cliche in some parts, but well worth the time you need to read it.
I'll hand it over to blaisezabini12 when I next see her (some time this week).

Journal Entry 13 by rem_DUV-129661 on Friday, June 24, 2005
Received today from jade405. I'll post more comments after reading it:)
26 June 05: jade405 was right:) it was an easy and interesting read so although I have an exam this evening I just had to finish reading this book:)
I liked the fact that the 5 people Eddie meets aren't the ones he expected to meet (eg: his father wasn't among them).

I really enjoyed this book. I read it as my 2006 Author A-Z Challenge; and I am eager to read more Mitch Albom.

I loved the concept of meeting five people who affected your life, or were affected by your life, who help you become at peace with yourself. I also have to admit to blubbing at the end.
