I am really excited that someone other than me was actually interested in this book. I read it years ago but remember liking it and I could never get anyone else interested. I tried it at my OBCZ at Stone Soup, I tried it on the bookshelf at work, I tried it on bookrelay (under the strange title relay) and still nothing. As I said I read it years ago and I may not even like it now. But it's going off to Sarradee in TX who at least shares an interest in obscure Sci-fi. I have others - feel free to ask.

Mailed 06/27/2006 to sarradee in Ovilla, TX.

Thank you so much for sending this to me. I will keep your offer of old and obscure science fiction in mind. I really love this stuff, and so does my husband (although he doesn't get BC and so doesn't journal). It's on my short stack of stuff to read just as soon as all my promised books are out the door.

Journal Entry 6 by sarradee from Mansfield, Texas USA on Monday, July 23, 2007
Finally snagged this back from my husband who had it squirreled away on his nightstand.

Interesting subject matter. The story line runs in a somewhat non-linear fashion, and it has many different tangential plots that run off in so many directions it is sometimes hard to keep them straight. One of the subplots is very disconcerting until you remember that this book was written during a time when we didn't try so hard to be so politically correct.

Making this available on bookmooch to see if anyone is interested in old sci-fi. If not will probably hold onto and wild release at a sci-fi or comic book convention.

Edit: 07/25/07 I'm going to try and make a ray out of this one. Let's see if there's any interest at all on the forums. If not then, I'll do what I said above.

I was delighted to find a couple of people who were interested in reading the book so it's off on it's way on an international bookray.

RockDg9 (Aus)
Bilbi (France)

No real rules, just read in a fairly timely manner (no need to rush) and pass on when you're done. Last person can do as they please with the book, it would be nice if it kept moving but it's up to you when and how.

I'll be mailing to RockDg9 first thing tomorrow morning.

Arrived here today. Housemate asked "Are you sure you wanted that book?" Haha.

Thanks, I will get to it pretty soon.

Well, obscure sci-fi is certainly the right designation for this! I loved it though. Didn't really get all the stream of consciousness stuff, but I did enjoy the ride. And I liked the non-PC plot - it's refreshing, if dated.

Now PMing Bilbi

I'm half through the book and I can't help telling you about my first impressions !

I can't say I love the book but it is just so weird, so crazy that I can't help reading the second half ;-)

It took me time to understand "ohms" and "fums" for French words :D - won't tell what it means in this JE though.

My last (I promise) JE is due in a few days...

Journal Entry 13 by bilbi from Chambéry, Rhône-Alpes France on Sunday, September 9, 2007
Maybe the weirdest book I've ever read... There are so many characters, so many ideas...

Impossible to sum up !

I proposed the book both on the French and the Bookrings forums. At the moment brujula is willing to read this book : so let this crazy book travel on...

Thanks again for sharing

Nutella !??! I'm a chocoalcoholic... So what ? ;-o

By the way, I've even started a bookring for Nutella : un mito italiano by Gigi Padovani /o\

Spreading hazelnut is good ! Spreading my addiction in a journal entry is bad ! Well... Actually, it's funny. ;-D

Take care all of you \o/
