I adore this book; it's just so much fun! A delighful blend of fantasy and regency romance, this book is light and frothy and humorous and perfectly satisfying. A real charmer.

It was out of print for forever, but recently the publishers reissued it, and my lovely sister got me a pretty new copy for Christmas. So I'm registering my beat-up old copy here at Bookcrossing! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, world!

Here's the blurb:

Dearest Kate,
It is dreadfully flat here since you have been gone, and it only makes it worse to imagine all the things I shall be missing....

Indeed, there's a great deal happening in London. First, there was the matter of the witch trying to poison Kate at Sir Hilary's induction into the Royal College of Wizards. And why did she think that Kate was the roguish Marquis of Schofield, in clever disguise? What spell did the beautiful Dorothea cast to make her the toast of the town? And how to tell Aunt Charlotte that Oliver has been turned into a tree...?

8 out of 10

This was enjoyable but not amazing. Regency novels always make me wish they were written by Jane Austen. It got more fun when I read the afterward and found out how the book had come about. I'll send it on to the next person in the ring; enjoy!
