Registering this one for the Australian Bookcrossing Conference 2004. As I write these words it's just gone dawn on the first day as the sun lights up the YHA building just over the way. I'll be heading down to Martin Place in a few minutes to hand out free books to the people strolling to work. Such fun!

Again it was the cover, gentle, peacefulness.Well if you will put books anywhere near a bookcrosser, what do you expect. There are so many cats I have problems controlling them. Will check out my witch-book for a suitable bookcrosser control spell, but they don't seem to work very well.

Another book snatched out of the hands of Lyttelton Witch as she pulled it out of her bag.

I hadn't come across this author before, but I've enjoyed meeting these stories. They are easy to read and they touch on some of the ordinary issues of life but they are still light and easily digested.

Thanks Skyring for setting this one loose. BTW, I can't believe that its over a year since we met you. A lot of books have gone under the bridge since then! : )

This book seemed to have a bit more depth than Between Friends (or maybe it was just that I read it in a different frame of mind). There was quite an interesting theme of watching and being watched running through it - not just the peeping tom (I agree, Lytteltonwitch, a complete surprise!), but in things like Kate's fear of being watched, Fenella's desire for an audience, and the ladies who count watching each other. The main let-down for me though was the ending, which just felt a little bit too pat.

I really quite enjoyed 'Between Friends' which I picked up at last months meetup so I thought I'd give another novel by the same author a go.

Another insight into the lifes of ordinary village folk, showing everyone has fears and secrets. This is the second book I have read of Kathleen Rowntree and I am difintely going to keep my eyes open for more. Enjoyable light reading.

I found the book when I was holidaying in Akaroa (small seaside town east of Christchurch, south island, New Zealand) It was in the book shelf so no idea how long it had been there. Don't usually read this genre but gave it ago and just had to finish it so have brought it back to Christchurch city. will leave it in the Quarry or Halswell domain close to where I live on a park bench.
