I really enjoyed this book. A story told in the first person, through the eyes and ears of Ruby Lennox who first makes an appearance as an embryo at her conception and through the gestation to birth and her life thereafter.

The story is told with humour and pathos and constantly dips back to past generations of her family, discovering truths about herself along the way.

Loved it even though it has been languishing on my shelf for some time after being passed to me by the person who found it in Melton . . . it's now sitting new New Walk Museum in Leicester, which seemed a fitting temporary resting place
