This novel has it all...one of the 10 to take with you if you're left on a deserted island. "The unforgettable novel of a childhood in a sleepy southern US town and the crisis of conscience that rocked it, To Kill A Mockingbird became both an instant bestseller and a critical success when it was first published in 1960. It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1961, and was later made into an Academy Award winning film, which also became a classic." (from the back cover)

What an amazing book. Written through the eyes of a child in the south around the depression, she and her brother try to come to grips with racial inequality while still keeping their beliefs and hope alive. I absolutely enjoyed this book and its insight.
